Cellphone Debt - Why I decided Not To Renew My Mobile Phone Contract

So all over the show cellular phone contracts get advertised. Cellphones can be good and also bad as with my personal experience with contract phones and getting in to debt. Cellphone / Mobile phone contract debt was not good for me.

Some of the debt free topics that I will talk about:

  • how to become 100% debt free

  • how to clear credit card debt

  • how not to live beyond your means

  • how to to manage and reduce your debt

You will learn how to become 100% debt free in easy steps.

Wow, the invention of mobile phones has really made it easy to connect with friends and family. It is very convenient.

* Mobile Phone Contracts

Today I was so relieved to finally port my number from my contract cellphone to a prepaid (pay as you go) phone. Yippee!

So what does this mean to me?

  • It basically means I'm not going to be ripped off again with huge mobile phone monthly bills from service providers.
  • It also means that I'm not going to be enslaved in a 2 year cellular phone contract.
  • I can buy airtime as I see fit and on my terms.
  • This account is another one off my back and I can move forward to become a 100% debt free man

If you seriously want to become debt free then you will even clear your mobile phone contract and buy pay as you go airtime.

I know a contract might be convenient in sense that you don't have to every time go buy airtime, but that is a sacrifice I am willing to make and a small price to pay. The bottom line is I don't want to be enslaved by unnecessary debt.

* Enough is enough

Where I got fed up with cellphone contracts was when I paid my bills every month and it was huge ones, I got a couple of times letter of demand letters. It is not only annoying, but I didn't like to be hassled with nonsense like this especially if you got a very good credit rating, like me and I always pay my bills.

So I decided enough is enough and simply I just finished my cellphone contact and ported my number (kept old number) and the rest is history.

I won't advise anybody to tie themselves down with mobile phone contracts. I know the deals are tempting e.g. free cellphones, gift voucher, gifts etc. but from personal experience with cellphone contracts it is not worth it at the end.

Save up and buy the phone cash or buy a cheap cellular phone and just get yourself a pay as you go phone sim card and as simple as that you will not impress your friends, but yourself.

Why? because you on your way to become a 100% debt free man, woman or kid.

If I can do it then you can do it also. Simple.

* You can become DEBT FREE

It is definitely possible for you to clear all of your debt. I will share with you my personal experiences of how to strategically clear all of your debt. Read all the articles on the site and you will be on your way to become a 100% debt free man / debt free child / debt free teenager / debt free woman

If I can do it then you can do it also. Enjoy :)

Cindy that is a very good question.

What I did was to port my number from the one cellphone service provider to another, but pay as you go.

It was quick and very simple to do and I kept my old number.

If you need further help then you can with phone or go to a branch of your mobile phone contact service provider for help.

I will encourage you to go pay as you go, because I'm personally paying on airtime a third of what I used to pay every month.

For me personally pay as you go is the best way. I had 8 years cellphone contracts and I believe that I got ripped of.

I prefer to rather buy my own airtime as I need it and my bills are now a third of what I used to pay.

With contracts I averaged 400+ a month and peak 1200 in one month.

With pay as you go I average 120 + a month. Now that is a huge saving.

The end of the day the ball is in your court. You decide

Grant, that is entirely your decision.

I personally renewed my mobile phone contract 4 times and the 5th time opted to port it to pay as you go.

Pay as you go work better for me.
